We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
I was a little nervous about driving to Delaware and being in the car with Alex for 10+ hours but, my little guy did so well. We left after work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Luckily it was later and Alex pretty much slept the entire way. He woke up a couple of times to eat and get changed but other than that it was a quiet trip.
At one of the rest stops in PA, I got very disoriented and thought I lost my family. The rest stop had two entrances... An East entrance and a West entrance. I went in the East entrance and after using the restroom and stopping at the gift shop to buy sodas and snacks, I left through the West entrance. When I got outside I couldn't find the truck. Now Jason's truck is bright red so there is no way to miss it. I knew we parked in the row closest to the building yet, I couldn't find the truck. I got confused, stood there in the cold for a few seconds, and then walked back into the rest stop. I walked back out a minute later and decided to walk around the building to see if he went to fill up the gas tank. I looked at the gas station area, and still couldn't see Jason's truck. I went back into the rest stop.
At this point I'm getting concerned because I know the truck was in the first row! I decided to retrace my steps so I went back into the bathroom, came out, went to the gift shop, and headed back out to the parking lot.
The entire time I just don't realize that there are two entrances. So, needless to say, I start going into a panic. I retrace my steps again by going into the bathroom and coming back out to the gift shop. I finally figure out that there are two entrances and quickly run out to the other parking lot (the one that I came in at).
I get to the truck and I am just worked up and upset. Jason adds to the story that he though he heard someone yelling through the cold night air, "ALLLEEXX!!" Of course that's not true - yet it is very funny! The entire time Jason can see me zipping and running through the rest stop loosing my mind!!!
We get to Delaware a little before 3 AM and got some well needed sleep. We woke up the next day to Thanksgiving Day and lots of eating! Alex got the chance to chill out before all of the visiting began!
We planned a party for Saturday for family and close friends. Friends that couldn't come on Saturday came over on Friday -- so it was nice to be able to see everyone. Alex got the chance to meet cousins, aunts, great aunts, great great aunts, and many many friends. He was a social butterfly and hung in there -- even though he was extremely tired and was fighting sleep. Everyone seemed excited to meet Alex, and more excited to poke fun of me because I'm a Mom now :o)
We had a great time visiting and of course eating!!
The drive back was a little bit more challenging! Alex was awake a little more and was bored sitting in his car seat! He went into a hunger frenzy (such a drama King) so we had to make a quick emergency stop so that we could feed him. All in all he did really well :o)
I am a wife, mother, and during the day a case manager! This blog is a mixture of my personal life, and the food that I attempt to cook!! My cooking experiences have been interesting. Before my son began eating solid foods I was either ordering take out, or the most I could do was make spaghetti (i.e. boil water, put noodles in, and open a jar of ragu!). This is a part of my life, that I am ready to share!!

Getting Started
I have always wanted to start my own blog but just never had the motivation to start.
Now that I have my Alex, I feel the need to share my thoughts and experiences in a more personal way! Facebook has been great with keeping up with friends & family, yet, I just don't feel the need to share everything with everyone on my friends list. Hopefully this will be a way to share in a more personal and select type of way.
I hope to keep up with it - even if it's just me talking out one of my many random thoughts!
